Arrived at home and spoke with Joe about reason I was called today, which was for a downstairs bathroom shower drain and toilet that were backing up. After doing five star grading and visual inspection I got started with a backpack auger running at 70 feet through the line all the way to the main. But was unsuccessful to clear blockage. Let her know that we need to get a camera down the line before running a bigger machine, so we scheduled a time for Rob and myself to return Monday the 22nd at 2 PM.

Sold full system and water htr. Furnace is shut off due to hx crack

Here today to install customer supply toilet and kitchen faucet. Upon arrival I got started on disassembly of existing faucet and toilet. Once completed, I prepped new fixtures and got them installed quickly. After installation was complete, I tested to make sure there were no leaks and everything is working properly. Collected the signatures and payment and headed out.

Upon arrival I began the furnace tune up. First, I started with a static pressure test. This system is rated for .8 maximum and the unit is testing at .6 which is below the max and passing the static pressure test. Next, i checked the running amps on the inducer and blower motor and they were both testing within specs. I did find that the seal around the inducer motor has failed causing CO condensation to leak out and it’s starting to rust inside the furnace cabinet. The secondary inducer drain has failed also causing the condensation to accumulate on top of the furnace around the exhaust PVC piping. Next, I checked the heat exchanger to see how it looked. I found lots of rusting and I unfortunately found a crack in the heat exchanger which is causing a CO leak. Whenever we find a crack in the heat exchanger or get any hits or carbon monoxide, we are required by law to shut the furnace down. Arrived to perform previously diagnosed repairs. Shut down power to the furnace. Unplugged the inducer and moved the pressure switch assembly out of the way. Removed the old leaky inducer. Removed the old gasket and adhesive. Cleaned up the mating surface and installed the new gasket with the new inducer. Plugged the new inducer into the furnace and connected all pressure switches and drainage for the venting system. Fired system up to ensure that the system will run without leaking any condensation. Furnace is functioning properly at this time.

Out today to perform proposed work per Murph. Upon arrival performed gas line repair, as well as replacing toilet supply line in master bath. However I will have to return after special ordering a compression style laundry valve similar to the one that’s already in place due to space and laundry box restrictions. Arrived to do a performance maintenance. Set up for combustion analysis temperature split and static pressure tests. While performing these tests had a carbon monoxide detector reading the air leaving the furnace. Found that the system is operating with more than twice the static pressure it is supposed to have. Found that there is carbon monoxide in the air stream. Spoke with homeowner about the systems static pressure and the much more important carbon monoxide in the conditioned air. Reached out to a field supervisor to verify the carbon monoxide readings. Once field supervisor arrived checked the furnaces heat exchanger with the inspection camera. Found that each cell of the heat exchanger has multiple holes and cracks. This makes the system unsafe to operate. Signed red tag with the homeowner and shut off the furnace. Went for a furnace inspection today. Did a static pressure test, it failed. Did a carbon monoxide test, there is a leak. After checking heat exchanger, I noticed severe rust and a crack. The furnace is disabled. Thank you for choosing LBA services!

Furnace Install

Came out here for a furnace tuneup unit was about a year old tested static pressure static was passing in the heating mode. Checked amps on the inducer and the blower motor. Both work completely normal cleaned out flame sensor filter has already been replaced. Heat exchanger look good in the unit ensure that within the heating cycle everything was working perfectly fine.
