Humidifier setting was set to on;y 15%. I turned it up to 40%. Water flow was good so no other issues. We changed out the air filter while I was here. Told customer to watch it but the humidity levels should come back up in a day or two.

I arrived and met Austin and he relayed to me that the Goodman spark ignition natural draft furnace that serves the downstairs bathrooms was having problems with the blower motor. I turned the furnace on to heat mode and observed the spark ignition and the flames. The flames looked great and they did not move when the blower motor started. The blower motor struggled to start. An amp draw was quickly measured (5.9a) and then the unit was then shut down. The blower motor bearings, and wheels were checked and were ok. The blower motor capacitor had lost half of its capacity. The capacitor was replaced and another amp draw was taken (3.9a). A few extra screws were added to the flue pipe and there are now 3 screws in each flue junction. The unit was cycled through a heat cycle and a flue gas analysis was performed for each burner. The CO for each burner was under 22ppm which is in the proper range. Got furnace running
J.J. came out to our house at 7:30 pm while we were getting 4" of blowing snow, 1 degree outside, 1 hour drive to get here because our heater had gone out. He diagnosed the problem, left us space heaters, and is coming back in the morning to fix the furnace. My wife and I were really impressed with this young man. He was polite, knowledgeable in the trade, he really made a tough situation manageable for us. Will rate LBA itself later, but their service techs have all been a pleasure to work with.

Customer called for no heat. Arrived and customer stated they had noticed temps dropping and system not kicking on, main floor and basement system is dual fuel and heat pump wasn’t reverting over to emergency heat, was able to switch over and test furnace. Furnace is 20 years old and in decent shape but showing signs of age related failure. Contacted field supervisor to advise customer on options for replacement when customer is ready.

Upon arrival I spoke with the homeowner. She just moved in December of 2024, so she’s only been in this home for a couple months. Her inspector told her she should have the hvac system checked out because it was very dirty. I started my tune up on the system. I found the excessive dirt and debris that had snuck its way into the system. Other than the dirt and debris I found the evaporator coil is clogged up with debris and microbial growth and the air you breathe is passing though the coil and could make you feel sickly. The blower wheel is very dirty and needs to be cleaned. The control board and most everything inside this Air Handler has gotten pretty dirty. Since this system is 21 years old, I wouldn’t recommend putting too much money into a system that isn’t going to last very long. I also found that the AC/Heat Pump is running with R22 refrigerant which is no longer made and we cannot add that kind of refrigerant any longer. This is another reason I would consider replacing the s

Customer called for a no heat. Upon arrival found that top for condenser had cracked and fan was sagging inside condenser and fins are bent over. System is dual fuel with a heat pump and gas furnace. Hanged thermostat settings to run gas heat only and shut off breaker to heat pump. Home is warming and field supervisor was contacted to advise customer on repair options.

Arrived for a leak coming from system. Found that a connection for the drain pipe had not been glued. I glued it up. System is running upon departure. Thanks for choosing LBA.

Upon arrival I began the furnace tune up. First, I ran a static pressure test. This system has a max rating of .5 and your system is testing at .84 which is failing over the max allowed. This is putting more stress on the furnace. The blower wheel needs to be cleaned and it is amping a little higher than I normally see which will happen with age as well. I will include an estimate for a blower wheel cleaning. The inducer motor was testing within specs. I took a temperature split on the system which was 140 degrees (-) 79 degrees = 61 degree temp rise. The manufacturer has the setting between 35 & 65 degrees so we are within specs for the temp rise. CO testing at Zero PPM. Looked at the heat exchanger and it looks good to me, especially considering it’s 20 years old. Didn’t see any cracks today. Went for a furnace maintenance today. Did a static pressure test, it failed. Changed the filter. Did a carbon monoxide leak test, there is a leak. After inspecting the heat exchanger, I noticed the cracks. The furnace is red tagged and disabled. Thank you for choosing LBA services!

Completed furnace inspection for customer. All components of heating tested within manufacturer specifications. There was a hit of 2ppm Carbon Monoxide when running system explained to customer it is not concerning as this is an acceptable level to have in a home. Static pressures were slightly elevated at a .65inwc when manufacturer max is a .5inwc. No recommendations at this time.

During a winter storm my heat went out. LBA sent Andrew within a couple of hours. Am so thankful my house is no longer 47 degrees. Andrew was thorough and explained as well as able to troubleshoot the problem and made sure there were no further issues before leaving. Appt was scheduled for 9am to not interfere with getting my kids off to school. The technician called me at 6:55 am to inform me he was going to he there at 8. The technician seemed to be very green. Took over 2 hours for a simple furnace service and filter change. Bounced back and forth from the thermostat to the furnace to the ac unit multiple times. I had to provide him with a screwdriver. He tore my panel off my furnace to sit on my floor and read it for about 30 minutes and forgot to put the panel back on before he left. When wrapping up he tried to upsell me some products but didn't have any knowledge about it. Considering the issues I had with Ideal Temp before this transition and the fact that I paid way too much money for a brand new system only two years ago I need to be able to trust that a professional is going to be here from now on.
